Baby Three BB3 400% ChongQing Limited Edition Plush New
This is Baby Three's love letter to Chongqing — and more specifically, to Bian Lian: the legendary Sichuan opera tradition of face-changing, where performers swap painted masks in the blink of an eye. Every single detail on this figure is rooted in that cultural heritage, from the opera robe to the opera faces painted inside the eyes themselves. It is theatrical, dramatic, deeply considered, and absolutely stunning.

Bian Lian — built into every detail
Bian Lian is the ancient Sichuan opera art of face-changing — a performer's painted mask changes in a flash, each new face revealing a new emotion. BB3 didn't just put this figure in an opera costume; they built the theme into the eyes, the faceplate, the cheeks, the forehead — it's everywhere:
- Eyes: Dual-sided rotatable domes revealing two completely different looks. The chrome side is an iridescent color-shifting finish with a tiny illustrated Bian Lian opera performer painted inside, surrounded by sparkles — the chrome shifts color with the light, referencing the flash-change of the performance itself. The red glitter side is deep crimson liquid glitter that catches and scatters light — bold, dramatic, and pure opera energy. Two personalities, one rotation.
- Forehead detail: A small dark blue oval on the faceplate with a miniature illustrated Bian Lian face-changer surrounded by star sparkles — the defining detail of this limited edition.
- Cheeks: Miniature opera mask/face stamps on each cheek — the character-specific detail that ties the whole face together.
- Nose: Signature red circular nose — bold, classic, and perfectly in step with the opera color palette and the bold color blocking of traditional opera makeup.
- Costume: A full Sichuan opera performance robe — black with gold embroidered borders in a classic Chinese key pattern, gold cloud and ruyi scroll embroidery on the chest, and multiple long red silk tassels cascading from the hem. The red satin underlayer at the neckline adds the drama of a true stage entrance, and the costume's back panel is red satin/silk: the full 360° of this figure is considered and complete.
- Hood: A dramatic wide grey fluffy fur hood that frames the face and drops into long drooping side panels — theatrical and oversized in the best possible way, with a black inner hood lining and gold braided tassel border that feel refined and ceremonial.
- Pompoms: One large red pompom at the crown, flanked by two amber/orange pompoms, with additional red pompoms at the hood sides — a nod to the elaborate headdresses of Chinese opera performers.
- Inner brocade: Rich golden-yellow jacquard fabric with a fan-scale pattern visible at the hood interior and body sides — a luxurious detail that rewards a close look.
